Can’t find Your Confidence, I know where it is!

Remember, there are 6 things the thief steals from us.

Let me quickly sum up what is being stolen from us;

Our Influence…

 Security…

 Intimacy…

 and Clarity of God.

Now, allow me to share the 5th item that is being stolen from us.

The thief steals our confidence in Christ Jesus.

The thief comes to steal a confidence because he weighs on us the idea that we will be judged for our sins one day. This cast a shadow on our understanding and insight fear of the returning Christ.

This hinders us from confidently and eagerly awaiting Christ return. It blinds us to his whole some love.

The thief steals our confidence in making us believe that there’s a judgment day. That God will come back and judge us for our sins. This introduces confusion and ultimately breeds panic as we believe God will remember our sins.

The thief steals our confidence in making us believe there is a reward scheme, that believers will be rewarded with wealth upon the return of Jesus Christ. We will be qualified and measured for an equivalent award Based on our good deeds.

The thief wants us to believe that we can collect credit which can be exchanged for heavenly loot. This judgment reward game diverts our focus away from Jesus and the work he did on the cross.

The thief steals our confidence by making us believe that we have an angry God Who will punish his children because of their performance.

The thief steals our confident in making us believe that our God is disappointed with us.  Consequently, we feel neither empowered for life of victory nor qualified for life and intimacy with Christ.

The thief steals our confidence in making us believe that the work that was done on the Cross by Jesus Christ did not encompass all punishment, instead that there is more punishment to come when we do wrong.

The thief wants us to believe that there is this distance thing between God and us; where the more we sin the more the distance increases. The more we sin the more irritated God is with us.  We become consumed with the effort to win back God’s love that we become completely blinded to the truth that God remember our sins no more.

As believer in Christ, we must hold firm to the scripture in Romans 8:38-39 (New Living Translation) says…

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love.

Neither death nor life…

neither angels nor demons…

neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow…

not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

No power in the sky above…

or in the earth below…

indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Absolutely Nothing and I mean nothing!
